This is my experience at this church lock-in

Hey everybody! I am going to talk about my experience at this wonderful church. Let's start from the beginning. I recently was invited by a friend to Germantown United Methodist Church (GUMC). I went there for a couple of times for basic youth group. From the start, I was very welcomed here at GUMC. Everybody I met was so kind and friendly. All of the people at this church from the youth directors to the students showed the love of Christ just by being kind. Anyway, I immediately fell in love with this church. I kept going back to the youth group a couple of times and went to one of their retreats called Crave with the original friend, who first invited me to youth, and another one of our friends. This was one of the best experiences I had not only with the people but with God and feeling the Holy Spirit's presence. Later on, I went to what was called Discovery. This took place last weekend. This was a GUMC lock-in at the church itself. I went with the same two friends and had the best time ever. The overall theme was Servant Leadership. Specific seniors, who had been with the church for a while, spoke. They each had a topic that went with Servant Leadership, which involved being a leader at home, school, in your local community, in your world (missionary journeys), in church, and with yourself. I learned so much and bonded so greatly with these people. We had what is called a D-Group and the youth directors put you in a group with other students. I was put in a group with a sophomore, senior, who happened to speak, junior, two sixth graders, the two people I came with, and two adults. We all learned so much together about being a leader and loving God. Everyone at this church is amazing. They all care for you with their whole hearts and want you to grow closer to God with every step of the way. One of the most breathe taking moments, to me, was when everyone, who was there, was singing. We all gathered around the room everyone in arms singing praises to God and I felt the presences of the Holy Spirit there with me. I will never forget that moment and the people there. Thank you all at GUMC for being Servant Leaders and loving like Christ, showing me the way to God.
